A near fine co py in a very good, price-clipped dust jacket. Age toning to the book's pages. Interior is tight clean and unmarked. The dust jacket has fray s to its corners and along the head of its spine. Rubbing to the base of the spine. Rubbing to the panels' upper edges. The inside front fla p has a vertical crease along its length.

First U.S. edition, hardcover, has a slight lean to the binding, light bowing to the boards with a faint wave to text block, a touch of rubbing with some very faint shelfwear to covers, and a previous owner's name to head of front pastedown, otherwise a solid VG copy in a like dust jacket, which has light sunning to the spine, a faint scrape with a very small tear to front panel, and slight bumps to spine ends and corners.

The motif and binding were designed especially for this edition. A Fine copy signed by the Author, without dedication, to limitation leaf. A handsome example of the study of Leonardo da Vinci and his works, by the Scottish journalist and academic (1906-82).
