Maps as endpapers. 235 pp 8vo. This is the story of the Dalai Lama's escape in 1959 from Tibet as he was forced from ruling his people. The cause was due to the Chinese Communists who occupied Tibet and set up a puppet government what was set on the extinction of the Tibetan culture. When other Tibetans came to rescue the Dali Lama people surrounded his palace, the Chinese began shelling the palace, and in disguise, he fled Tibet, leaving a rebellion in his wake. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
