Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. A very nice, sound clean copy with a small , neat owner inscription on the front fly leaf, dated Aug 26 '72. Clean pages throughout. The boards are fresh looking still and the title lettering crisp. A tiny bit of sun discolouration at the very tips of the spine. A small section towards the rear, pages 161 to 176, is mysteriously trimmed along the bottom edge, possibly in the printing/binding process or possibly by the owner. It does not impact at all on the text of the robustness of the binding. The dust jacket bright, not price clipped, albeit a little edge worn and chipped with a couple of short tears a the head of the spine and top edge. In all though still a very presentable copy.

Not surprisingly, animal themes, especially relationships between human and animal feature in all of her books. She thought that the human-animal/human-nature relationship was extremely important and that a co-existence between the two could improve quality of life.].
