Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. First edition hardcover in paper covered boards showing sharp tips and bumped spine ends. 196 pp text is crisp and unmarked, save for a few foxing dots on the edge of page block and dusty/soiled top edge of same. No names, or tears. Not exlib. Original, unclipped dust wrapper has been laminated onto the book. Backstrip of dj quite sunned but title remains legible, author's name less so. Khazan left Ireland as a champion, and was castaway in Cornwall to be reborn as 'Blaze', Debbie Trelawney's horse. The magnificent thoroughbred and the frail young girl formed a wonderful bond which could never be severed. He was a wonder horse - a horse who could somehow change people's lives; a horse who aroused fierce price and loyalty; a horse of unique character who remained an enigma all his life. This story is based very freely on the legend of Moiffa, a New Zealand horse who was supposed to have come from the sea; who won the Grand National in 1904, and was then bought by King Edward VII. Both horses came from the sea, but there is no resemblance. All people, places and characters are fictitious.
