8vo, cloth, title on spine, dust jacket, illustrated, 358 pp. Overal condition; almost new. Rubin Carter (1937-2014) was a middleweight contender with a 27 and 12 record. He fought Joey Giardello for the title, and after hurting Giardello early, he was unable to finish him, and Giardello outclassed him for the reminder of the fight, winning by decision. Carter would serve almost 20 years in prison for a murder he did not commit. The Rubin Carter story is a testament to the human spirit, and the courage of one man to maintain his dignity at all costs.
