Il correspond à la super-famille des Papilionoidea, soit les "Papillons de jour", ou Papillons (au sens strict, les "Butterflies"). Pour Linné, c'était son genre Papilio. C'est une super-famille parmi une trentaine d'autres (pour simplifier), qui comporte à peu près 10% des Lépidoptères connus (source : Wikipedia) sans la jaquette illustrée, sous le cartonnage éditeur imprimé qui est d'ailleurs en tres bon état, l'intérieur est sinon frais et propre, papier legerement jauni sans gravité, cela reste un bon exemplaire, hormis l'absence de la jaquette, bien complet des 60 planches hors-texte en couleurs 500.
