First limited edition of 75 copies, of which this is copy 45. 63pp. and a woodcut by Raoul Ubac. John Montague (1929-2016) was an Irish poet. Born in America, he was raised in Ireland. He published a number of volumes of poetry, two collections of short stories and two volumes of memoir. He was one of the best known Irish contemporary poets, and in 1998 he became the first occupant of the Ireland Chair of Poetry. The poetic sequence of his The Great Cloak recounts the loss of love and its recovery in a new and growing relationship.The book is bound in the original marbled paper covered boards with a green leather spine and gold titling on the spine. The book is in excellent condition and the contents are tight and clean. It has been hand-numbered and flat-signed by John Montague. The green paper covered slipcase is very good with some shelf wear and a few small white marks on one side. Signed by the author.
