The (imaginary?) author conducts funny, probing, insightful interviewee with the lawyer Clarence Darrow, the assassin James Earl Ray, the Abolitionist John Brown, the Labor activist Eugene Debs, and even a local dude who rescued his own dog, a small schnauzer, from the jaws of a menacing pit-bull . . . and who then died of a heart attack.
