Pages crisp and clean except for some foxing and mild tanning at the right edge of the page block; spine leans somewhat to the right, but binding remains secure; green hard cover bears some spotting along the top rear edge, rubbing and small surface chips at corners, spine ends, and heel edges, and tiny wrinkles at the spine ends, otherwise sound. Jacket is age-toned along the spine and edges, with a row of small, brown spots at the upper rear and another at the right rear, and there is a closed tear at the bottom rear and a narrow, open tear at the spine heel as well as some chipping around the corners, otherwise sound, with one of the more overtly spooky front illustrations in the series.
