This set is unfortunatley missing 3 out of the 7 total color maps. The maps missing are "Map of the World, showing the Zoo-Geographical Regions and the contour of the Ocean-bed" (vol 1 frontispiece), "Map of the Australian Region (vol 1. pg 387), and "Map of the Neotropical Region" (vol 2. pg 3). Additionally plate XIII was bound in the incorrect place (facing pg 445) but present. Half titles present. Vol 2 front endpaper detached. Closed tear to the spine of each volume; 5 and 3 cm. Previous owner's bookplate and an additional sticker inside front cover. Evidence of bookplate removal to inside back cover vol 1. Some foxing, mostly confined to the first and last few pages. Front gutters cracked. A working copy. Scarce 1st edition.
