INSCRIBED BY JONES on half-title page, "For Jane & Walter,/ With affectionate regards,/ Madison." Walter Sullivan (1924-2006) was an author, critic, longtime Vanderbilt University professor, authority on Southern literature, and founding member of The Fellowship of Southern Writers, and Madison Jones (1925-2012) -- who was associated with the "Southern Agrarians" -- was a Fellowship charter member. Sullivan's wife, Jane Harrison Sullivan (1923-2022), taught English literature at Aquinas College. Fine in near fine dust jacket with barest wear. Quite scarce, and exceedingly so signed.
