Cloth. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. Third Edition. This book has been bound in a burgandy cloth. The lettering on the spine has worn away. Some corner bumping and the boards have cocked. Chip on the front hinge near the spine, small holes. Text has yellowed with age but solid in binding with no foxing. Library plate on front end paper. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Ex-Library.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good+. Original brown, blind stamped cloth boards with gilt lettering. Lettering on spine not bright. Previous owner's name in faint pencil on ffep. Pages a bit toned. Occasional pencil markings in the margins. Index. ix, 285, [4] pp. 8.75 x 5.75 inches. Henry Truro Bray (1846-1922) was an English-born minister, philosopher, and physician. After immigrating to the Unites States, he served as a Methodist minister and then spent ten years as an Episcopal Priest, finally resigning in 1889 due to an incompatibility of beliefs, his departure partly connected to the publication of this book in 1888. Later in his career he turned to practicing medicine.
