A good copy bound in shiny black cloth stamped brightly in gold on the front boards. The spine gilt is heavily rubbed and dulled. Faint image of a ring stain on the front boards not affecting title.Clean and tight thoughout with some offsetting from the dustjacket flaps to the paste-downs and the endpapers. In a rather worn, chipped, foxed and strikingly colorful dustjacket with the original price of $2.00 at the top of the inside front flap.Heavy chipping and a fingernail-sized piece missing from the top of the spine ends; small pieces missing at the bottom of the spine ends and at the corners. Spine darkened and the verso of the jacket is soiled and foxed. The loyal legion of Merritt followers are fanatics in their enthusiasm for his unique novels, and they will revel in his latest one, even more fantastic and adventurous, if that is possible than "The Face in the Abyss, The Moon Pool, Seven Footprints to Satan, and The Ship of Ishtar." First Edition with 1932 on the copyright page.
