Loosely inserted is an additional 10 page promotional pamphlet, in French and English, containing 6 recipes and instructions for using your Le Creuset cookware on the range and in the oven, and for how to clean your cookware. Published by Clarbat Ltd, it is well-illustrated and has a seller's stamp to the front of the wrap. In the publisher's original paper wraps. The rear cover annotated by Eliza…beth David in blue ink with the publication date "September 1963". The contents, with Elizabeth David's handwritten emendation in blue ink on the last page of text, the occasional finger mark to the margins and a bit of toning at the edges are otherwise clean. Scarce in presentation state. Inscribed on the inside front cover "To Joanna / with love / Elizabeth / November 12th 1963". Loosely laid in is a pertinent single page letter to the same recipientfrom Elizabeth David on her Halsey Street letterhead reading in part "Dear Joanna / I'm afraid this will be useless as a coffee table, footstool or meat-press - and oh dear, if you only knew how I battled with Heather Standring to get the cover drawing right - But I gave up in the end.
