In 1944 when the Allies invaded Burma the American where the famous Merrill s Marauders , the British troop were the Chindits . The Chindits were mainly British, but they included Nigerians, Chinese, Gurkhas and Burmese. Notes throught out the book from a participant in the actual events that occured during this time. Good copy of the Book Club Edition in a good dust jacket. The lower part of the gilded lettering on the spine is starting to fade, and the binding is cracked part way through, all the pages are there and solidly in place. The dust jacket has some edge wear as well as wear on the top and bottom of the spine. 304 pages.
