Originally published in hard covers by Michael Joseph in 1966. The spine has light edge rubbing. Light edge and surface wear to the front and rear covers which are slightly discoloured. Page edges browned. Slight browning around the edges of the insides of the covers. Trace of a price in pencil on the first page and the pages are a little browned but otherwise unmarked. Barry Hines is perhaps best known for his novel 'A Kestrel for a Knave'' but in fact 'The Blinder' was his first novel, first published in 1966. This is a solid copy with bright covers and spine. Contents: unmarked pages are very good. 'The Blinder'is a novel about a schoolboy who is gifted at football and is torn between this and his academic aspirations.

Original Cloth. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Lapper, Ivan (illustrator). 1st Edition. The boards have a small dent in the spine and there is a slight spine lean. Page edges browned with a small stain to the top edges. The end papers are a little browned but the pages are otherwise unmarked. The jacket has fading to the spine which is chipped at the top and bottom and has a small closed tear across the 'N' in the title. Two and a half inch long closed tear running up from the bottom of the front panel. The front panel also has a small chip out of the top corner and some staining in places. The rear panel has a tiny closed tear in the top edge, a few small stains and some surface browning. First printing.
