Condition: Sehr gut. Original hardcover binding, 104 pages, mostly illustrations, some text in English and Chinese in parallel, small damage to rear cover, very good condition. Important book on 15th to 17th century murals showing a mixed style influenced by the painting traditions of Tibet and China. Although the murals are in pretty bad state, these murals are otherwise not published so extensively. The text is not really to be understood without some help, reference should be made to: Karl Debreczeny, Dabaojigong and the Regional Tradition of Ming Sino-Tibetan Painting in the Kingdom of Lijiang (in: Kapstein (ed.), Buddhism between Tibet & China - with several more very interesting essays on the political impact of Buddhism).
