Pages and plates are lightly tanned and foxed throughout, heavier to endpapers. Slight cracking to gutters of a few pages. Occasional thumb-marking present. Small tear to edge of fold-out plan, otherwise in good condition. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Crushing to spine ends with small splits and fraying to cloth. Scuffing and rubbed marking overall. Light tanning to spine and edges.

A good reading copy of an uncommon and sought after guide recording the first ascents of many classic lines, including London Wall, Great Slab, Quietus etc. [Neate Q141]. The copy belonged to 60s gritstone hard man Pat Fearnehough, with his name and drawing of ice axe to FFE, and occasional comments and additions in text ('Jankers Groove - Super Direct. - D.D.Whillans. Instead of traversing to the right from Jankers Crack, ascend the bulge directly beow the groove on jammed fists / Severe if you can do it') . Fearnehough died on expedition to Latok II in 1978.
