"Loaded is a collection of ten portraits, drawn in words, in which Meryl Urson depicts various Cape characters. Rather than dwell on the broader events of our time, the authoress relates her characters' personal battles - and their victories. In this collection, the Cape becomes as much a character as the people who inhabit it. For the Cape with its sleepy atmosphere, its spectrum of humanity and its astonishing beauty, was the source of inspiration for Loaded.".
