First Edition
First Edition (& 1st printing). Oblong quarto, original blue cloth lettered in gold on spine panel, front panel lettered and bordered in blind, blue endpapers. 172 pp., illustrated throughout by Harry O. Morris. Four small faint marks to the cloth from old adjacent cellotape from a long-ago discarded dust jacket protector (one should never use tape or adhesives on a dust jacket protector!); otherwise a fine copy in a fine dust jacket. The first printing of this book is very uncommon. ".perhaps the best novel ever written from the point of view of a schizophrenic. Toplin's world is filled with hideous monsters and inexplicable events, all manufactured within his own mind, and McDowell's examination of how Toplin manages to interact with his environment despite his delusions is thoroughly fascinating, easily his best single work." - Don D'Ammassa.
