"Pop is a movement that has been explored and celebrated in many ways; 'Marilyn, Flowers, Lips, Gun, Mirror, Cactus' approaches the concept from a new perspective, that of an immersive experience with a design element, to transform the way visitors interact with the gallery space and works on display. Paintings by Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol and Tom Wesselmann are shown here for the first time in the UK among a limited edition of Gufram's iconic Cactus, specially commissioned for Ordovas." - website description.

Hardcover. Condition: VG. Brown boards with black stamped lettering. 64 pp. Color illustrations. Flowers have been messengers of meaning throughout art history - whether as symbols of fertility or mortality, purity or sexuality, love or loss, or simply nothing more than a pile of petals. On display from 8 June until 28 July 2018 at Ordovas on Savile Row, London, Flowers will focus on the significance of this enduring subject in post-war and contemporary art. Including a major painting by Gerhard Richter and an Alexander Calder mobile on display in the UK for the first time, the exhibition will explore how the flower, a traditional and classically beautiful object, fits within a modern context.

Hardcover. green marbled boards w/ red stamped printing. 71 pgs w/ primarily color illustrations. Wonderfully illustrated throughout. "Horses & Freud commemorates the centenary of the birth of Lucian Freud with a loan exhibition dedicated to the artist's lifelong love of horses. Bringing together a carefully selected group of paintings, portraits and sketchbooks loaned from both museums and private collections, the exhibition explores the influence of horses on his life and art, and the diverse friendships and acquaintances that were made as a result. Lucian Freud's (1922-2011) fascination with horses began in his early childhood; as a young boy he would go riding in the countryside outside Berlin and he was sometimes found sleeping in the stables, reputedly enjoying the company of the animals more than attending lessons. Through his love for the animals, and his subsequent love of gambling, he went on to meet a wide and varied group of people, some of whom became both sitters and clients who now number among his most important collectors. This includes Brigadier Andrew Parker Bowles OBE whom Freud first met in 1983 when he arranged for him to access the stables of the Household Cavalry; an exclusive interview with Parker Bowles is included in the illustrated catalogue for the exhibition."--Publisher. VG (light wear to board edges, corners & spine ends).
