pp.xxviii+259. 23cm. Frontis portrait. 5 maps (one double page). 12 plates in colour, one black and white. (one of the illustrations listed is not present, even though they are arranged in a group on 8 pages). Appendix. Chronology. Glossary. Bibliography. Index. Hard cover in slightly faded dust jacket. A very good clean copy The illustration lacking is of the font (in which presumably Bass was baptised) in the Church of St. Denis, Aswarby, Lincolnshire. This appears to be an error in the make up of the section of illustrations.
