A clipping from an unidentified newspaper about Dr. Petioni is tipped in between pages 22 and 23. No Jacket (as issued?). INSCRIBED on front free endpaper by the compiler ("To 'Doc' Charles Augustin Petioni . My Highest Personal Regard Briggs Trottman Compiler Mar. 5, 1941"). No additional volumes of this Who's Who were published. Dr. Petioni, 1885-1951, the inscribee, is described in his biographical profile on pages 22-23 in this volume as born and raised on Trinidad, arriving in New York about 1918, working at a variety of jobs, earning a medical degree from Howard University in 1925 and becoming a practicing physician in Harlem while also being active in numerous organizations. Petioni's daughter Muriel, 1914-2011, also graduated from Howard's Medical School (1937) and eventually (1950) returned to Harlem and set up private practice in the office her father had used for his practice.She is not listed in this Who's Who.
