Both with original pictorial dust-jackets, the first clipped and re-priced to £3.50, and the second priced at £3.50. A small, light, black ink ownership to the fly-leaf of 'The Kingdom in the Sun.' A little spotting to edges. 'The Normans in the South' price-clipped and re-priced with a label. Lettering to jacket spines faded, with light to moderate wear to jacket edges. Very good. The son of Conservative politician Duff Cooper, Viscount Norwich began a long career as a writer and amateur historian after leaving the Diplomatic Service in 1964. These are his first and third published monographs (not counting 'Mount Athos', 1966, which he wrote with Reresby Sitwell), which constituted the first English-language historical survey of the Norman kingdom of Sicily. Later re-published together in a single volume, 'The Normans in Sicily' (1992).
