First Edition; Demy 8vo; pp. xliii, 230; b/w illustrations, appendices, index, bound in original brown cloth, title lettered in gilt on spine, dustjacket, very good copy. This edition of the Autobiographical narrative of Edward Eyre is published from the original manuscript, A1806, in the Mitchell Library, Sydney. Eyre wrote in a tiny script and the ink has bled through the paper, making some words indecipherable except by means of magnifying glass. Square brackets have been inserted around the few words that still evade accurate transcription and around words which have been added to complete the sense.
