First Edition. -----------( 1st Printing of the First Edition ) ---hardcover, a Near Fine example, in a Near Fine dustjacket, 500 pages, ---"Abraham Kuyper believed that Jesus is King of all creation, making it absurd to distinguish between Christian life inside and outside the church. In previous volumes of Pro Rege, Kuyper examined Christ's universal kingship and its implications for the life of the church and the family; in this third volume, he extends his analysis of Christ's kingship and rule to areas of society not encompassed by the family and the church - specifically, culture and the arts, civil society, and government. ---Created in partnership with the Abraham Kuyper Translation Society and the Acton Institute for the Study of Religion & Liberty, the Abraham Kuyper Collected Works in Public Theology marks a historic moment in Kuyper studiesâ?"one that will deepen and enrich the church's public theology. ---Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the Acton Institute is a nonprofit research organization dedicated to the study of free-market economics informed by religious faith and moral absolutes"---, any image directly beside this listing is the actual book and not a generic photo ///NOT SIGNED ---GUARANTEED to be AVAILABLE/// ---sizes are approximate (generally within 1/8 inch)--- Size: 7.25w x 10.25h Inches. Published by Giles Lithographic and Liberty Printing Co. N.Y. for Mess. W. Duke Sons & Co., Durham, NC and New York, NY, 1880
Seller: Kurt Gippert Bookseller (ABAA), Chicago, IL, U.S.A.
Unbound. Condition: Very good+ condition. Early edition. Lithographic print on faux parchment, measuring approximately 20.5" x 27". Original metal trim present at top and bottom edge with minor creasing, and minor oxidization to the metal finish. There is minor wear and minor wrinkling to the edges of the parchment, and there are a total of about a dozen pin holes present at the top and bottom of the document. What appear to be creases/folds and soiling are actually part of the lithographic facsimile. This is a broadside that can be rolled for shipping. This Giles-Liberty 1880's reprint of the Declaration of Independence is of the famous facsimile originally published by Benjamin Owen Tyler in 1818. Tyler's documents were the first to produce the Declaration in script and included exceptionally realistic signatures of the signers. As also noted by Bidwell (#2; see the note after the entry on p. 287), Giles lithographs are facsimiles of Tyler's work. These were apparently produced as premiums for Duke tobacco products and could only be obtained by redeeming certificates from 75 packets of Duke products. Uncommon. Size: Large folio. Book.
