See Times Literary Supplement 25 March 1965, p. 231 [inserted in this copy]. The Stock was destroyed by enemy action. By 1959, when the same publisher decided with Sir Geoffrey Keynes that a new edition should be prepared, the earlier one (this edition) was in great demand and very expensive: even after months of advertising it proved impossible to buy a single set, and the precious file copies had to go to the printer with all the necessary additions & corrections."
