First Edition. 4to, pp. 160, illustrated in B&W and Color, Bound in printed boards, a near fine copy. This copy belonged to one time poet lauret of the US William Jay Smith who wrote 16 lines of holograph about his personal memories of his wife, poet Barbara Howes meeting Blixen in Denmark then his experience introducing Blixen to people when she came to the US. Blixen is best known for Out of Africa, her account of living in Kenya, and one of her stories, Babette's Feast, both of which have been adapted into highly acclaimed, Academy Award-winning motion pictures. Prior to the release of the first film, she was noted for her Seven Gothic Tales, for which she is also known in Denmark.
