Book is in fine condition, dj shows handling and a bit of rubbing with 1/2 inch chip lacking from top of spine. cardboard slipcase has illustrative pastedown wrapping around the spine. case in very good condition except for a roughly 8 1/2 x 3 inch area where it appears light brownish paper has stuck to a part of it. shipping will be extra for this large book, international shipping will be expensive. ; 11 3/4 x 16 3/4 ".

Cofanetto in cartone grezzo con disegno applicato. Il libro e' un catalogo parziale del Museo Tessile Precolombiano di Amano a Lima, Peru', che ha recentemente festeggiato il suo 50o anniversario. Il fondatore fu Yoshitaro Amano (1898-1982), un ricco uomo d'affari giapponese espatriato che si innamoro' dei vecchi tessuti andini e accumulo' una collezione di livello mondiale. Ha aperto un museo privato nel 1964 e ha pubblicato questo libro nel 1978, illustrando il meglio della sua collezione. Testo in inglese. Due piccoli strappi e leggerissimi segni di usura ai bordi della sovraccoperta, per il resto l'esemplare e' perfetto. ITA.

The Amano museum was established in 1963 by Yoshitaro Amano in the capital city of Lima. The purpose of the museum is to display, maintain and study art pieces and scientific documents collected by Amano while studying the archaeology of the Andes over the years. It is a three story building covering 1020 square meters. The building was designed by Amano, and the interior, decorations were by him as well. This well unified and very magnificent building exhibits a huge collection of 30,000 items of cultural significance such as textiles, earthenware, wood-ware, daily tools and personal belongings of the Incas. The collection of dyed textiles of Chancay culture is the best in the world. This museum is not ope to the general public. Condition: Corners bumped. Jacket spine sunned, shipped at spine ends and corners with tears to hinges, lacks slipcase. The Huacos y Tejidos item has bumped corners else both copies are very good.
