Trade Paperback. Condition: Very Good. Tysoe, Ada, - Cover Photographs (illustrator). Assumed First Edition. 170 Pages. The Kama Sutra is the most famous book on lovemaking ever written. Originally composed by an Indian sage sometime between fourth century BC and the first century AD. It was not translated into English until the 1880s, and has only been available to the general reader since the 1960s. Not much is known about the author of the Kama Sutra. He belonged to the Vatsyayana sept and own name was Mallanaga. He embarked on the book as he was nearing the end of his life, and he saw the writing of it as part of his religious duties. It is a learned and carefully researched work, objective and semi-scientific, and is itself based on the findings of earlier sages.
