Le texte, un court paragraphe disposé en milieu de page, fait face à l'illustration en noir tout en courbes, scandées de formes pointues, évoquant des paysages lunaires et fantastiques. La belle reliure d'origine est très bien conservée, avec ces motifs typiques de la géométrisation "Années 30". Très célèbre en son temps, John Vassos (1898-1985) est un dessinateur d'origine grecque qui fit toute sa carrière aux États-Unis. L'étonnant roman du couple Vassos n'a jamais été repris en volume, mais a été remarqué par les grands journaux américains de l'époque. Ce roman a été acquis par la BNF en 2004. Dos insolé. Livre.
