This UK first printing was published a year before the US Shambala publication and is scarce. Hard Cover. Demy 4to 11" x 8¾" [27.9cm x 22.2cm] approx. 40 pp. Mid blue boards with gilt titles to the spine. Brick red endpapers with tiny pair of footprints to each. Book and illustrated jacket with wraparound design are both as new. Colour frontispiece and many more stunning colour illustrations decorate the text. The majority of the pictures were painted in 1981 for a series called 'The Search for the Simurgh'. A retelling of the Sufi parable, "The Conference of the Birds," a poem written in the thirteenth century by Farid ud-Din Attar, in which the birds of the Earth face seven invisible monsters in order to save the world.
