Slight lean to bumped spine, slight browning but clean. Good-plus in tape-repaired dust-wrapper. A real classic of chalkstream fishing for trout and grayling. Kite took the methods and ideas of Skues and Sawyer, explaining them in a lucid and popular way. He was a neighbour of Sawyer, who was a river-keeper on the Hampshire Avon, and spent two years learning the subject from him. In the first edition he acknowledges Sawyer as his mentor, but this acknowledgement was expunged from later editions. .
