Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. First Edition (Number Line to 1). Both the book and the dust jacket are in excellent condition. You can see both in the photos provided. The covers of the book are exceptionally clean. I don't see any soiling. The gilt lettering on the spine is nicely bright. The cover edges and corners look terrific, no rubbing. The spine has just a couple of little crinkles. The page edges look very good. The book is very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The condition of the pages is excellent. Scrolling through, I'm not finding any instances of soiling. I'm not seeing any creasing. There are no attachments. There is one marking, the name of the man I purchased the book directly from some years ago, Rabbi, scholar, and psychoanalyst Alan W. Miller. Underneath his stamp he penned two dates, presumably when he began and when he completed the book, 8. 12. 92 and 10. 22. 92. There is no other writing to be found anywhere in the book. The dust jacket is in truly excellent condition. It looks perfectly clean. There are no tears, no conspicuous creasing. The spine ends look very good. The flaps are also in excellent condition, very clean, no wear. The jacket is not priced or clipped. It will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned. From the dust jacket: 'This is an overwhelmingly important book. Not only does Sarah Morris reconceptualize the notions generally held of Greek artistic models and chronology, she also collects and interprets data from a range of fields that very few other scholars have mastered, and produces a coherent, persuasive synthesis. This compendium of work is usually accessible only to trained archaeologists and historians, but Morris opens it up to a wide range of readers interested in ancient culture.'-- Richard P. Martin, Princeton University. The author's 'broad focus on the Mediterranean world, combined with her interdisciplinary approach, allows for new insights into a wide range of topics, including the meaning of myth, sculpture, the evolution of the alphabet, Homeric poetics, and Attic drama.'.

Book
Condition: Antiquarian. Princeton University Press, Princeton, 1992. XXX,411,(40)p. ills.(B&W photographs and line drawings). Original terra cotta cloth with dust wrps. Spine gilt titled. Nice copy. May require extra shipping costs: weight including packing from 1 - 2 Kg. (MARY-ANNE ZAGDOUN in Revue des Études Grecques, 1993, p.230). Antiquarian.
