Book
Paperback. Condition: Fair. The story of the donkey's life is full of hardship, until he meets Sophie, a small girl who really, really loves him. But this is not a tragedy, for bravery always endures. And the donkey's epic tale is told with both pathos and humour. A donkey worked for ten years for the same owner without any thanks and for very little food but one day he goes lame and the owner decides he does not need a wonkey donkey. The donkey goes to a farm and a beach looking for work and eventually he arrives at a big house. Fortunately the little girl falls in love with him and it doesn't matter one bit to her that he's wonkey. One day the little girl doesn't come home and her father is thrown into a panic. The wonkey donkey wastes no time in going to find her but the final rescue of the little girl who has fallen into the river is too much for him and he breathes his last on the river bank. A statue is built to pay testament to the wonkey donkey's bravery. A readable copy of the book which may include some defects such as highlighting and notes. Cover and pages may be creased and show discolouration.
