Hardcover. Condition: Good. A Pergamon International Library of Science, Technology, Engineering and Social Studies publication. This well-illustrated book seeks to provide a summation of a large body of literature that 'hitherto (1983) could only be found by specialists.' There is a substantial reference list which is 'complemented by cross-references throughout.' Sober grey cover with black titles and b/w photograph of a glacier. The corners are bumped; the front top right-hand one in particular. Some minor scuffing at the head and tail of the spine. Main condition-related issue is the fact this was a library book (Aberdeen University) and some of the library paraphernalia remains in part e.g. there are the remains of a partially removed bookplate and check-out list on the front pastedown and endpaper respectively (see image). There do not appear to be any further examples of library provenance elsewhere. Most of the pages exhibit some peripheral tanning but this does not generally impact on the book's many graphs, tables, diagrams; nor on the clarity of the text. pp. xiv, 408/8vo. More photos/information on request. Please note that, depending on destination, we may request an additional payment to cover any extra shipping/postage charges. Abe2310.
