The title is drawn from a song in Shakespeare's play, Twelfth Night. Elinor Carlisle is engaged to be married to Roddy Welman. She receives an anonymous letter claiming that someone is "sucking up" to their wealthy aunt, Laura Welman, from whom Elinor and Roddy expect to inherit a sizeable fortune. Her Aunt is suffering after a first stroke and has been trying to persuade her doctor to give her a swift release but he refuses. Unfortunately she has a second stroke and dies intestate but there are numerous queries about her death. The novel was the first novel in the Poirot series set at least partly in the courtroom, with lawyers and witnesses exposing the facts underlying Poirot's solution to the crimes.* This is a NEAR VG+ text copy of the 1st/18th. thus with some age and wear reducing it to GD.* 192 pp. 1970-01-01. n.
