Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. RARE signed first printing. S R Badmin has signed this on the half title page. The price list is loose laid inside the book for the exhibition of this much loved landscape artist's work; it was held at the Chris Beetles Gallery, St James's London. Fully Illustrated Biography and Catalogue Raisonne of Etchings by S.R. Badmin. The English Landscape is a celebration and appreciation of one of Britain's foremost watercolour painters. The work of Stanley Roy Badmin is uniquely familiar and dear to the post-war generation. No other artist has had such consistent popular exposure: for forty years his beautifully detailed and romantic landscapes have graced nature books and travel guide, Puffin Pictures Books, the covers of Radio Times and Reader's Digest, and innumerable greetings cards and calendars. Why is it Near Fine? The spine of the protected jacket is a bit sunned, and there is a blind stamp of a former owner on the half title beneath the signature.
