Friedrich August Bornemann (1788-1848) was a German philologist, schoolteacher, specialising in the study of Xenophon and the Greek New Testament. Raphael Kühner (1802-78) was a German classical scholar, who taught at Hanover and was the author of Greek and Latin grammars. The first two volumes of an edition of the works of Xenophon. The bookplate of the Austen Leigh family, relatives of Jane Austen refers to Edward Compton Austen Leigh (1839-1926), schoolmaster at Eton and son of her nephew, James Edward Austen Leigh (1788-1874), who published A Memoir of Jane Austen in 1869.
