First Edition
Hardback. First Edition. Undated, this book is a first edition which was published in 1853. Original cloth covers which are blind tooled. Gilt tooled title to spine. Recent endpapers. Original half title onwards. Adverts to the rear. Cover and spine are rubbed. It appears original spine has been expertly reinforced over a new one, so there is small loss to edges not affecting text. Some discolouration to edges, as well as a few small marks and a cup ring to front cover. Pages are toned to edges throughout and occasionally foxed. Pages are remarkably clean and crisp other than the toning, considering their age. Overall very good condition. 282 ii pp. Lovely example, scarce in original cloth. book.
