Framed. Condition: Fine. A lovely watercolor, with pen-and-ink, painting by Whistler, who was a consummate illustrator, known for his murals and posters, as well as his book illustration, not to mention his career as a highly successful Society portrait artist. The work is attractively matted and framed. The watercolor measures 18 by 23 cm. With frame, 46.5 by 62 cm. The artwork evokes the eighteenth century, as did much of Whistler's work as a book illustrator.
