Hardcover. Condition: Very good. Sir Francis Rose (illustrator). First American edition. 288pp. Octavo [21.5 cm] 1/4 olive green cloth with orange paper over boards. With the Errata slip. The edges of the spine and boards are a bit dinged and rubbed. The endpapers are darkened along the hinges. There are prominent tape stains to the recto of the front flyleaf, and on the verso there is a previous owner's bookplate. Illustrations by Sir Francis Rose. Written by Gertrude Stein's long-term partner. Pg. 259- the Hashish Fudge recipe has been removed. The British edition, which preceded the Harpers edition by just a few days, included the recipe, however the Harper's edition omitted it.

The price-clipped dust jacket shows edge wear, a two inch tear to the top of the rear panel, light soiling, spine of the dust jacket age-darkened, no sun fading. DJ now in an archival protector to prevent further damage.
