Hardcover. First edition. The scope of theis catalog is as follows: 1. The zoological group treated as the Order Diptera, or two-winged flies, which included the midges, gnats, and mosquitoes. Species known only as fossils are not included. 2. The geographical area treated is North America north of Mexico, including Greenland, Bermuda, and the California Channel Islands, but excluding the Bahama Islands and Commander Islands. 3. It is believed that all pertinent names proposed from 1758 through 1962 are included as well as some 1963 names. 1696 pages with index plus eleven page folded booklet of corrections to the catalog in the rear pocket. Bound in original green cloth with lettering in black. A near fine copy. Book.
