Probable First Edition. 339 pp, brown cloth; soiling & light wear to boards, rubbing/wear to spine top and bottom, some light rubbing to gilt on spine, minor dampstaining to endpapers and few pages, spot of staining to page edges (first 50 pages or so). An interesting association copy from the library of the noted Victorian Canadian woman writer Annie Howells Frechette, whose signature is on the half-title. (She subsequently added her married name and neatly crossed out the family's previous place of residence, "Jefferson.").
