Article is 40-pages, and illustrated with 8 historical photographs, including a scene of a dress parade of the KY State Guard at their August, 1860, training camp in Louisville, the distinctive hooded overcoat of the Second Kentucky Infantry, the earthworks near New Hope Church-Dallas, and portraits of the author, and of Colonel Robert W. Hanson, who was Commander of the Second Kentucky Infantry and was mortally wounded at the Battle of Stones River, and Sgt. Daniel E. Turney, of Company G, who was named to the Confederate Roll of Honor for valor shown at the Battle of Stones River, Private Abijah Brooks, Private George W. McIntire, Fourth Sgt. Benjamin F. Batterson, Fourth Sgt. James E. Patton, Second Corporal E. L. Chesire, and First Corporal James M. Chiles.
