The sketches and paintings (colour photos) are by the famous Australian artist Clifton Pugh who has a healthy respect for nature which he shares with the narrator. The verse stories by Ivan Smith were originally published as two books in 1972 and 1977. Forewords by the Duke of Edinburgh and Sir Peter Scott.
