These workshops bring together approximately eighteen experts in closed session for two days. The topic is determined by the Foundation but the direction that conversation takes is determined by the participants. There is no agenda. The workshops are taped, transcribed, edited, published in the present form and distributed to participants, interested parties, museums and libraries." -- Henry T. Hopkins, director. Very Good / Fine. Set of 5 volumes. Light rubbing and yellowing of cover edges and light yellowing of pages, otherwise Fine. Contents clean and unmarked.
A broken run of 13 issues of this socialist newsletter written and published by Ken and Sharon Freedman - and later Richard Mehl - who were members of the Socialist Party of Ohio. Issues focused heavily on the civil rights and anti-war movements, political organizing - and police repression - in Ohio, socialism, labor struggles, early SDS activities and other issues of the time. Included are Vol. 1, Nos. 1, 3, 5, [7], 8, 10, 11; Vol. II, Nos. 1, 2, 4, 7, 11. We're unsure how many issues were published, but this run appears to represent the bulk of them. Very few issues appear to have survived. Although an OCLC record exists, no libraries are listed as holding issues. All issues uniformly bound in side-stapled variously colored wrappers (11" x 8 ½"), mimeographed; pagination runs from 10-22 p., with most 16 p., illus. Some issues numbered in pen on their covers, a few with underlining or other marginalia. General wear; a subscription or order form has been torn out of issue 5, p. 5, which affects a portion of the content on p. 6. All other issues complete.
