Bound in red cloth, with gilt titles to front board, this hardcover 1907 First Edition is VG. 1X/93pp with Prefatory Note and Five Chapters. Born in Cork (1823) into a Military family, Saunders he trained as a Army Surgeon and joined the 47th Regiment. He then served in Ireland, Crimea, Cape Colony, China and Japan. Spine and top edge of front board, slightly faded, but binding tight and sound: generally VG.
