Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Hardcover edition, published by Hodder & Stoughton. Fourth book in the Bulldog Drummond series. In which Drummond's nemesis, Carl Peterson, is hired by a diamond syndicate to suppress Professor Goodman's discovery of how to make artificial diamonds. A UK edition from Hodder & Stoughton. Without the dust jacket, it can difficult to identify the edition of books from this publisher since they did not tend to clearly define them until at least 1940. First published in 1924, from the list of books by 'Sapper' at the front of the book, this is most likely a reprint from the early 1930's. Red cloth covered boards, with debossed art deco design on the cover, title in black on the spine. Just very slight fading to the spine, all lettering is legible. 320 pages, 4-3/4" X 7-1/4". Large rectangle of age tanning to both the first and last flyleaf page, most likely from where a newspaper clipping was stored. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. Edges if the text block have age tanning, a few tiny dots of foxing, , tiny dot of an ink smudge on the bottom edge, scratch mark to the top edge. Not a library discard. Binding is tight. Attached are some photos of the copy we have in our inventory.
