Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. This was the first in the eight book Champion Sports Series set in Clarksville, a Connecticut prep school. A boy whose father's death left the family in a difficult financial position, rescues a girl and wins a scholarship to the prep school. He has to work hard at his studies but is eventually persuaded to go out for the baseball team and becomes a star. Has a nice illustrated blue Dust Jacket with white lettering on the front and the spine. The Dust Jacket has numerous small chips, is in a mylar protector. The book has the normal browning of pages and is in good condition. I have other titles in this series and more than 265 juvenile baseball fiction titles in stock.
